Setting out

"This is your fault, you little wench!" hissed Alynsa, gray eyes darkening as she glared at the brunette. "This is the last straw.  When Jeresh hears about this, he'll have you shipped off immediately."

She had been waiting for this, the moment her brother's wife found something they deemed worthy of sending her off to Ta'Nalfein. They had been threatening this for years but it seems her most recent adventures into the astral plane were her final undoing. Starry eyes gazed calmly back at the infuriated woman, pale pink lips pressed into a thin line.

"My brother won't return for three days.  You know this as well as I do, Alynsa." she replied, head tilting and eyes flashing in the light. "However will you manage to survive?"  Her fingers twitched and the woman stumbled back, gasping softly.

"You're a curse on this family, Nyssia.  You're worth more to them dead." the blonde hissed again, this time to hide her fear.

Smirking lips and a quirked brow were the Lady's reward as Nyssia continued to gaze at her until she ran out of the room.  Only then did Nyssia react, heart racing in her chest. She'd only have twenty-four hours to pack and make her escape. If she intended to run, she'd have to make it quick, which meant packing as light as possible.

Moving to her desk, she sat down and dipped her quill into the ink pot. A small breath and she began writing out her goodbye letter to her two younger brothers, brow furrowed as the quill flew over the page. The words would make no sense to anyone who read it but Aurin. Long ago, they had developed a code to send secret messages back and forth.

It'd been at least 150 years since she'd last had to use it, but she had no other choice. Folding the letter, spritzing it with her perfume, she sealed the envelope with her signet ring.  Tucking it into the inside pocket of her cloak, she took a moment to let everything sink in once again.

"I need to find him.." she murmured softly to her empty room.  The door shut with a click, the lock slipping into place. Her armoire creaked open before she grabbed a bag and threw it on her bed, hastily packing as many of her belongings into the bag as she could.

With key in hand, she unlocked the box once more, dropping her bag to the floor.  On the edge of the bed she sat, placing the diadem on her head once more, her thoughts trained on one person.  The vibrations ran through her body, shaking her soul free to roam the astral plane.

Her eyes opened and she glanced around quickly, gaze lingering on her form for a moment before she took off running towards her windows. Running through the panes, she leapt into the air and she was gone.

She landed with a muffled crunch on snow covered land, her breath coming out in a frosty puff. The cold air soothed her anger and cooled her cheeks. She'd figure out where he was today, she had to. There must be a clue here somewhere... right?

Knowing the way, she took off running, leaving shadowy footprints behind. The wind was blowing harder tonight, the air toying with her loose tendrils as she hurried to the sleeping Wolf.  His prone form was easier to find with her cloak draped over him.  The snow stretched out in every direction with no end in sight and then he was there.

Dropping to her knees, she ran her fingers through his fur, murmuring softly to the animal. "Won't you wake up?  I need to know where to go.  I don't know where to go."  Slender fingers scratched behind his ears before running down his back. "Ly'oup." she breathed, concern crumbling her brow.

She sat for hours as she had before, drawing comfort from the wolf beside her. Her fingers never strayed too far from his fur, enjoying the soft hair. His presence, even in this form, brought strength to her, peace.

Leaning down, she pressed a kiss to his muzzle, like so many nights before, and slipped an emerald eyed silver wolf underneath his paw, careful to keep the brooch's pin away from him and then... she was gone, leaving her scent on the breeze.
